Box Score RALEIGH, NC -- The Pacer offense was sparked by back-to- back doubles from Nick Cole and Trevor Nanney in the 5 th inning. After Nate Holt reached on an error and a walk to Easton Payton, Alex Scott forced a 2 run error to put the Pacers up 3-1. Alec Allred followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 4-1. Methodist responded in the top of the 7 th with 2 runs, all with 2 outs, to cut the Pacer lead to 1. Pacers tacked on a much needed insurance run by way of an Alex Scott RBI single in the bottom of the 7 th . Methodist cut the Pacer lead to 1 after an unearned run came in at the top of the 8 th inning.

Braxton Lamm entered the game when William Peace had a 1 run and had a 3 up,3 down inning to secure his first save and the win for Game 1. The win went to Trevor Pence, who pitched 7 innings with 6 strikeouts and only allowing 3 runs for his 4 th win of the year.
