Women's Basketball to Take On Shaw University

RALEIGH, N.C. --  The Pacers are back in action again after an impressive win against Salem College on Sunday, December 3. Based on their strong team performance, and the standout defensive and offensive efforts of Mikayla Ray, the Pacers notched their first win of the season in their well earned victory. Ray also received the USA South honor of Player of The Week for women's basketball.

The William Peace University women's basketball team will be looking to challenge themselves against NCAA Division II opponent, Shaw University. It is expected to be a demanding match as Shaw University is currently (1-4) on their season, and Peace is (1-3) overall. Tip off will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Hermann Center.

During halftime of the women's game, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting a halftime competition. Fans will receive raffle tickets upon entering the game should they wish to participate. At the beginning of the halftime break, two tickets will be drawn to battle it out for a $25 gift card to Bad Daddy's Burger Bar, located in Seaboard Station, across from WPU. The two fans chosen to compete for the prize will compete by placing several articles of WPU basketball gear on before taking off towards the basket to make a layup, free throw, and three-pointer. The contest is open to any and all fans, but participants must be present for the drawing to compete.
