Tyler Mercer had a career night for the William Peace University women's basketball team, scoring 18 points and dishing out nine assists in the Pacers' 68-49 win over Randolph College on Wednesday night. William Peace improves to 4-2 with the win and have won three straight in the Hermann Athletic Center.
The game was very close throughout the first quarter with neither team hitting on many shots. The Pacers found their groove in the second quarter scoring the first six points and last five points to take a 32-22 lead into the locker room. Mercer had 13 points at half at
Nadine Ealey scored 11.
WPU came out of the half and turned on the defensive pressure. Randolph only made one basket in the first 6:49 of the third quarter. Meanwhile, the Pacers had extended the lead to 43-25 with all-around great play.
William Peace cruised through to the end, eventually topping Randolph at 68-49.

William Peace has won three straight games to bring its record to 4-2 and sits second in the USA South East Standings behind NC Wesleyan. WPU has found different ways of winning its games from offensive rebounding, great defensive stands and getting teams into foul trouble. Tonight the Pacers held the WildCats to 25% shooting for the game.
BY THE NUMBERS
Mercer led the team with 18 points and nine assists. Ealey finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Makayla Ray picked up a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds and finished 5-of-9 from the field.

The Pacers will return to action against Guilford College on December 12. It will be the first game of a three-game road trip for the Pacers.
