RALEIGH -- The William Peace University women's basketball team will play host to Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Tuesday night in the Hermann Athletic Center. It will be the fourth time these two programs have met, with the Pacers going undefeated against the Mustangs in the previous three games.
William Peace is coming off a 69-63 win over Salem College last Tuesday in the Hermann Athletic Center. The Pacers have enjoyed being home to start the year with only one road game in the first four games, and still two more to be played before hitting the road.
Nadine Ealey has led the team in points per game with 13.8 while
Tyler Mercer has averaged 12.8.
Whitney Walker is averaging 10.0 points per game for the Pacers as well. Freshman Mikayla Ray has been the team's best rebounder with 32 total rebounds. Ray has been instrumental in getting defenses in foul trouble. She doesn't shy away from contact and that can be backed up with her 34 free-throw attempts.
MACU is 4-3 on the year and is coming into the Hermann Athletic Center on a two-game win streak. Four of their starters average over 10 points a game and their sixth woman is averaging 10 points a game. The Mustangs are led by Aleah McNeal who is averaging nearly 20 points a game. Eryka Vincent is averaging 16.4 while Montana Moore is averaging 15 points a game.
The Pacers will have to keep Tierra Lester off the backboards for a good chance of winning the game. Lester is averaging an astounding 13 rebounds per game and has 43 offensive rebounds alone.
