RALEIGH – The William Peace University women's basketball team will square off against Salem College on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Hermann Athletic Center. The Pacers are looking to bounce back after suffering a loss to Huntingdon over the weekend.
William Peace (1-2) enters the matchup against Salem College with a 15-7 edge in the series. The Pacers have won the last two matchups dating back to last year.
Nadine Ealey has been the Pacers best player so far this year. The sophomore is averaging 14 points a game and leads the teams in assists (8) and steals (10).
Tyler Mercer is adding 12.3 points per game and has eight steals on the season.
Makayla Ray has been the Pacers best rebounder averaging 7.7 boards per game. The Pacers have enjoyed a nice spark off the bench from freshman
Jayde Grant who leads the team in shooting efficiency at 63%.
Salem College (2-1) is coming off its first loss of the season. The spirits beat Methodist and Hollins before losing to Roanoke over the weekend. The Spirits are led by Sabrina Shephard who is averaging nearly 25 points a game. The senior forward from Selma, N.C. is a major three-point threat draining 13 of 23 attempts from beyond the arc.
The game is scheduled to start at approximately 7 p.m. Though it could be delayed briefly with the men's basketball team having a game starting at 5 p.m.
