Ryan Huber enters his ninth season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at William Peace University in 2026 after taking over the program prior to the 2018 season.
Under Huber’s leadership, William Peace has emerged as one of the top programs in the USA South Conference while producing the most successful era in program history. Huber became the winningest coach in program history and has guided the Pacers to conference championships, NCAA Tournament appearances, all-region honors, and numerous program records throughout his tenure.
In 2025, the Pacers continued their success by advancing to the USA South Conference Tournament Semifinals for the fifth consecutive season while finishing with a 9-6-4 overall record.
The 2024 season marked the most historic year in program history as the Pacers captured their first USA South Conference Championship and earned the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance. After overcoming a difficult start to conference play, William Peace closed the season on a six-game winning streak, defeating Methodist, North Carolina Wesleyan, and Brevard during its championship run. The Pacers advanced to the NCAA Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Washington, where they faced the host Eagles in the opening round.
In 2022, Huber led the Pacers to a 12-2-1 overall record, setting a program record for wins in a season while capturing the USA South East Division Championship. The title marked the first conference championship for any men’s program in William Peace history. The Pacers also advanced to the USA South Conference Championship match that season.
Since 2019, the Pacers have established themselves as consistent conference contenders, posting winning records in eight of Huber’s first nine seasons while regularly competing near the top of the conference standings. William Peace has also made five consecutive USA South Conference Tournament Semifinal appearances under Huber’s leadership.
Huber has coached one USA South Player of the Year, two USA South Rookies of the Year, and two USA South Goalkeepers of the Year while earning USA South Coach of the Year honors in 2018. Under his direction, the Pacers have produced 24 USA South All-Conference selections and nine United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections throughout the program’s rise within the conference.
Prior to arriving at William Peace, Huber spent six seasons as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College from 2011-16, serving as recruiting coordinator, goalkeeper coach, and head reserve team coach. During his tenure, the Battling Bishops finished among the top four teams in the conference five times.
Alongside his collegiate coaching experience, Huber also served in several coaching and leadership roles with the Tar River Youth Soccer Association, including Director of Coaching and Assistant Director of Coaching, helping oversee player development, staff recruitment, and club philosophy.
Before North Carolina Wesleyan, Huber spent three seasons as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Louisburg College from 2008-11, where the Hurricanes rose as high as No. 4 nationally in the junior college rankings. He also spent one season as an assistant coach at Guilford College in 2008 while helping establish a club soccer program at the institution.
Huber earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management in 2008 before later earning his Master’s degree in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Liberty University in 2014.
