CARY, N.C. - William Peace split Saturday's doubleheader with Mary Baldwin, earning a 10-8 win in game one before falling 10-1 in game two. The Pacers secure the series win, taking two of three games, and move to 12-17 overall and 5-7 in USA South play.
In game one, the Pacers put together a strong offensive performance with 12 hits. Caden French led the way going 3 for 5 with three RBIs, while Kahner Moss and Gavin Turner each added two hits and drove in runs. Nathan Roller delivered a key two RBI triple in the seventh inning to give Peace the lead, and Jacob Herzberg added a solo home run as the Pacers pulled away late.
Mary Baldwin answered in game two, using a seven run seventh inning to break the game open. Kahner Moss and Caden French each recorded two hits, while Gavin Turner added two hits and drove in the Pacers' lone run as Peace was limited to one run despite eight hits.
William Peace will look to carry momentum into next weekend's conference series on the road at Methodist, with games scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
