Caden French Leads Pacers to Road Series Win at Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. - William Peace picked up a huge USA South road series victory over Brevard this weekend, taking two of three games to improve to 15-21 overall and 7-11 in conference play as the Pacers continue to build momentum late in the regular season.

After falling 6-1 in Friday's opener, Peace answered in a big way on Saturday. In game one of the doubleheader, the Pacers earned an 8-5 win behind hot hitting and key bullpen work. Hayden Heath delivered one of the biggest plays of the weekend with a three run inside the park home run that shifted the momentum, while Caden French drove in two runs and Kyle Peters added two hits with two runs scored. Jacob Herzberg and Nick Weisner each collected two hits as the Pacers found ways to manufacture runs throughout the game.

On the mound, Landon Coleman picked up the win in relief and Seth Svadeba earned the save.

The Pacers completed the series win in Saturday's second game with an 11 inning battle, outlasting Brevard 8-6. William Peace totaled 18 hits in the victory. In the top of the 11th, the Pacers broke through with two runs to regain control after Brevard tied the game up in previous innings.

Caden French led the offense with four hits, three RBIs, and a run scored. Nathan Roller added three hits and an RBI, while Kyle Peters collected three hits. Gavin Turner added an early solo home run, and Kahner Moss chipped in two hits and an RBI.

Svadeba returned to the mound in relief and closed out the final innings to earn the victory, improving to 8-0 on the season bringing him into the top win totals among Division III pitchers this year.

William Peace now returns home for its final regular season conference series next weekend, hosting games on April 24 and April 25 against Southern Virginia with conference tournament positioning on the line.
