CARY, N.C. - William Peace picked up two wins over Rhode Island College on Sunday, including a dramatic walk off victory in the nightcap at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
The Pacers opened the day with a 7-3 win behind a strong offensive performance that produced 10 hits. Hayden Heath collected two hits and scored twice, while Gavin Turner went 2 for 2 with two walks and an RBI. Justin Earle added two hits and drove in two runs, and Caden French contributed an RBI as Peace pulled away with a four run third inning. Alejandro Posluszny earned the win on the mound and Hunter Bennison recorded the save.
Game two was scheduled as a seven inning contest but stretched into nine innings in a back and forth battle. Rhode Island College took a 5-3 lead in the fifth before the Pacers chipped away to even the score. In the bottom of the ninth, Jacob Herzberg worked a walk and moved into scoring position before Gavin Turner delivered the game winning single to center field for his second walk off hit of the season.
William Peace will look to complete the series sweep tomorrow when the Pacers host Rhode Island College at 12 PM at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
