CARY, N.C. - William Peace defeated Rhode Island College 13-3 in eight innings Saturday afternoon at the USA Baseball National Training Complex, taking the first game of the four game series.
The Pacers collected 15 hits in the win, led by Aidan Allred who went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Hayden Heath added three hits while Nick Weisner finished with two hits and two RBIs. Justin Earle and Eddie Sanchez each drove in two runs.
Nathan Roller doubled and scored twice while Gavin Turner reached base four times with two hits and two walks.
Derrick Collins earned the win on the mound after pitching six innings and allowing three runs while striking out three.
William Peace will return to the USA Baseball National Training Complex on Sunday for a doubleheader against Rhode Island College. The first of two seven inning games is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
