CARY, N.C. - The William Peace University baseball team hosted Gettysburg College and Widener University at the USA Baseball National Training Complex over the weekend but came up short in their match ups.
On Saturday afternoon, the Pacers fell to Gettysburg before dropping an 8-4 game to Widener. In the later contest against Widener, Peace mounted a four run seventh inning rally behind RBI hits from Leland Barrow, Nathan Roller, and Aidan Allred to cut the deficit in half, but the early gap proved too much to overcome.
Sunday's match up with Gettysburg, the Pacers jump out to a 5-3 lead through four innings. Gavin Turner collected two hits and scored twice, while Barrow and Roller each drove in runs. Gettysburg answered with a six run sixth inning to regain control, ultimately handing Peace a 10-5 loss.
William Peace will look to regroup on Wednesday, February 25, when it hosts Hampden Sydney College at 3 p.m. at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
