ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - William Peace women's basketball fell 68-50 to NC Wesleyan on Tuesday night in a USA South match up at Everett Gymnasium. The loss moves the Pacers to 9-8 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
NC Wesleyan set the tone early, jumping out to a double-digit lead in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout the first half. William Peace outscored the Battling Bishops 29-32 over the final two quarters, but was unable to overcome the early deficit.
Jess Worthey led the Pacers with a team-high 14 points, knocking down two three-pointers and adding five rebounds. Amiah Griffin followed with 12 points and six rebounds, while Zikira Henderson contributed nine points, three assists, and five steals.
The Pacers will have a quick turnaround as they return home for a conference match up against Salem on Friday night. The game was moved from Saturday and will tip off at home at 6 p.m. inside the Hermann Athletic Center.
