Women's Basketball Cruises Past Mary Baldwin

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace women's basketball earned a solid 66-43 victory over Mary Baldwin on Saturday afternoon inside the Hermann Student Center, improving to 9-7 overall and 6-3 in USA South play.

The Pacers controlled the game from the second quarter on, holding Mary Baldwin to just four points in the period while building a 34-20 halftime lead. Peace continued to apply pressure on both ends of the floor in the second half, outscoring the Fighting Squirrels 32-23 over the final two quarters.

Amiah Griffin led the Pacers with 15 points, adding five rebounds and two steals. Alayna Randolph followed with 13 points and three assists, knocking down three three-pointers. Zikira Henderson contributed a well-rounded performance with 10 points, six assists, and six rebounds, while Zakoreya Davis added eight points and five rebounds off the bench.

William Peace forced 18 turnovers and converted them into 22 points, while also holding Mary Baldwin to under 30 percent shooting from the field.

The Pacers return to action next week, traveling to face NC Wesleyan on Tuesday, January 20 at 6:30 p.m.
