CARY, NC - The Pacers were back on home turf to start a weekend double header against Sewanee University. Peace needed to get back on track after dropping their last 2 matches on the road.
Sewanee came out of the gates firing and the Pacer defense didn't have many answers. Sewanee drew first blood in only the second minute of the match. The Tigers continued the pressure after taking the lead, amassing 5 shots within the first 8 minutes of the match.
The Pacers fought for an answer, putting a shot on frame in the 11th minute, but it was easily dealt with by the Tiger goalkeeper, Nathan Vanhoeve.
The momentum was short-lived for the Pacers as Sewanee doubled the lead in the 16th minute on a goal by Grayson White.
The Pacer offense looked to respond by getting 3 more shots off in the next 20 minutes of the first half, but each of them missed the frame. Each team traded a platoon of subs at the end the half, neither team getting another offensive chance in the last 10 minutes.
Sewanee carried their first half momentum through the halftime break, recording two shots within the first 6 minutes of the second half.
The second shot got through, putting the Tigers up 3-0. The Pacers didn't have many answers to the Tiger attack. Peace only recorded 1 shot in the second half.
The Tigers added another in the 77th minute, making Saturday's match the largest margin of defeat for the Pacers of the 2025 season.
The Pacers have another challenge just 24 hours removed from Saturday's tough result. Peace will look to snap their 3 game slide with another home match against Johnson and Wales at 4 pm on Sunday.
