RALEIGH, NC – William Peace University Athletics is excited to announce that Rebecca Fraser has officially been named Head Coach of the Women's Lacrosse program after serving as Interim Head Coach during the Spring 2025 season.
"I'm excited to continue leading the Women's Lacrosse program," Fraser said. "The team's commitment and passion made the decision to step into this role an easy one. While my primary focus remains in sports performance, I'm excited for the opportunity to support the continued growth of the lacrosse program and contribute to the development and overall experience of our exceptional student-athletes."
Fraser led the Pacers through a competitive 2025 campaign, guiding the team to a USA South Conference Tournament appearance and building foundational growth in a transitional season. The team posted a 2-9 overall record under her leadership.
In addition to her role with women's lacrosse, Fraser has served as the university's Head Strength and Conditioning Coach since Fall of 2022, and she will continue to do so moving forward.
"Coach Fraser did a phenomenal job leading our Women's Lacrosse program this past season, while also continuing to serve our student-athletes as strength coach," said Director of Athletics Claude Shields. "While balancing two roles can be challenging, we are excited to see her continue to lead both programs moving forward!"
Prior to her coaching career, Fraser had a remarkable collegiate playing career at Barton College, especially impressive given that she began playing lacrosse only upon arriving on campus. Initially recruited to play soccer, she walked on to the lacrosse team and quickly became a star player for the Bulldogs. Over her five-year career, she played as both a defender and midfielder, earning All-Conference honors every season. Fraser led Conference Carolinas in ground balls for five consecutive years and graduated as Barton's all-time leader in both career ground balls (326) and career-caused turnovers (183). Nationally, she ranked second among all active NCAA women's lacrosse players in career-caused turnovers.
Fraser brings a unique combination of athletic experience, leadership, and performance training, as she will continue to drive the direction of both the lacrosse and strength programs at William Peace.
