Baseball Sweeps in Doubleheader Non Conference Matchup

CARY, N.C. - Game One: The William Peace baseball team staged a thrilling late-game comeback to secure a 4-3 victory over Westminster (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon.

Trailing 3-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning, the Pacers came alive at the plate. After a leadoff single by Caden French and a failed pickoff attempt that advanced him to third, Jacob Herzberg drew a walk to put runners on the corners.

Alex Levesque then delivered an RBI single up the middle, cutting the deficit to 3-2. The momentum continued when Nick Tubolino notched a two-run single to left center that plated Herzberg and pinch-runner Gabe Winham, giving William Peace a 4-3 lead.

On the mound, starter Jarrett Hall turned in a stellar performance, working eight strong innings while allowing just two earned runs on seven hits. He kept the Titans' offense in check, inducing key outs and preventing any major scoring threats. Max Kasprowicz entered in the ninth to close things out, working around a pair of hits and a hit-by-pitch while striking out two.

The Pacers' offense tallied seven hits in the contest, with Levesque and Tubolino leading the way with a combined three RBIs.

Game Two:

A dominant offensive performance led William Peace to an 8-5 victory over Westminster (Pa.) in game 2 on Sunday afternoon, as the Pacers racked up 17 hits and scored in six different innings to secure the win.

William Peace struck first in the bottom of the first inning when Ian Turner delivered an RBI single to score Gabe Winham. After Westminster tied it in the second, the Pacers responded with two runs in the third, fueled by a Jacob Herzberg double and an RBI single from Gavin Turner.

The game remained close throughout, with Westminster inching back to within a run multiple times. The Pacers tacked on insurance runs in the late innings, highlighted by a clutch RBI single from G. Turner in the eighth and an RBI double from I. Turner to put the game out of reach.

On the mound, Jimmy Wormack tossed three solid innings while allowing just one run on one hit. The bullpen combined for six innings of relief, with Landon Coleman closing it out in the ninth.

Offensively, I. Turner (3-for-5, 2 RBIs), G. Turner (2-for-4, 2 RBIs), and Tubolino (3-for-5) led the way, while Herzberg and Levesque also chipped in multi-hit performances.

With the win, the Pacers improve to 4-11 on the season and will look to build on their momentum as they head to Christopher Newport for a 2 PM match up on Tuesday, march 11th.
