OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. - William Peace University's golf team put on a strong showing at the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational held at Panther's Run, Ocean Ridge Plantation from March 3-4, 2025.
Leading the way for the Pacers was Sophomore Ian Williams, who secured the individual championship with an impressive two-day total of 149 (+5). In the first round, Williams finished with 69, positioning himself first on the leader board. Despite challenging conditions in the final round, he held on with an 80 to the clinch victory by one stroke. Williams placed first out of 102 total golfers in the tournament.
Finn Howard finished T-46 with rounds of 82-82 (164, +20). Luke Dennis placed T-50, shooting 79-86 (165, +21). Britt Laughinghouse tied for 57th, cardind 82-84 (166, +22). Jack Batts followed closely at 59th, posting 85-82 (167, +23). Chad Bryant wrapped up the Pacer lineup at T-65, scoring 83-86 (169, +25)
The Pacers finished 10th overall in the team standings with a total score of 645 (+69), amongst 18 teams in the tournament.
The Pacers are back in action in the Marlins Invitational, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan, on March 17 and 18 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
