CARY, N.C. - The William Peace University men's lacrosse team secured a dominant 19–13 win over Brevard College on Saturday afternoon at WakeMed Park. The Pacers used a six-goal fourth quarter to pull away late, fueled by an explosive offensive effort led by Jamar Bell, who posted a game-high eight points on six goals and two assists. Bell found the back of the net four times in the second half, helping WPU turn a tight first half into a commanding second-half performance.
In addition to Bell, the Pacers saw strong contributions from Quinn Acree (4 goals, 1 assist), Brandon Goad (4 goals, 1 assist), Caleb Trahan (3 goals, 1 assist), and William English (2 goals, 4 assists). The game was tied 5-5 midway through the second quarter, but Acree and Bell helped William Peace enter halftime with a 7-5 advantage. From there, the Pacers never looked back.
Face off specialist Cullen Hunt won 17 of 29 draws to keep possession in the Pacers' favor throughout.
William Peace forced 12 turnovers, goalkeepers Dylan Sullivan and Tom Newhall combined for nine saves to anchor the defensive end. With the win, the Pacers improve to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
"Conference win, and we won't apologize!" WPU Head Coach Troy Humphrey added after the game. "Every healthy player contributed in a significant way, we love them all!"
