FAYETTEVILLE, NC - William Peace University men's lacrosse fell to Methodist University on Tuesday, with a score of 18–7 in USA South action at Monarch Stadium.
The Pacers (3–4, 1–2) came out strong in the first quarter, scoring three quick goals including a pair from Quinn Acree and another from Jamar Bell, cutting into an early Methodist lead. But the Monarchs (6–5, 2–1) answered with a dominant second and third quarter, outscoring WPU 9–1 across that stretch to take control.
"Methodist sped us up, we couldn't handle the pace." WPU Head Coach Troy Humphrey said after the game. "Congratulations to them, turning any team over 32 times is quite an accomplishment. We need to get back in the office and get better for another conference game on Saturday!"
The Monarchs outshot WPU 53–24 and picked up 55 ground balls to the Pacers' 31.
Tom Newhall, Caleb Trahan, and Brandon Goad also found the back of the net for Peace. English added an assist.
The Pacers will look to bounce back as they continue conference play against Brevard College this Saturday, March 29 at WakeMed Park.
