Raleigh, N.C. - William Peace men's basketball picked up its fifth win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Warren Wilson 78-61 inside the Hermann Athletic Center. The Pacers controlled the game from the opening tip, building a 37-23 halftime lead and never allowing the Owls to close the gap in the second half.
Elijah Green led Peace with 16 points, knocking down four threes while also adding three assists and a steal. Elijah Cathcart followed closely with 15 points on five made threes, and Shawn Jones turned in a strong all-around performance with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals.
Tyler Whitehurst added 10 points, and Jordan Kearney came off the bench to provide a spark, scoring nine points on 4-of-6 shooting. Chuks Ezeonu impacted the game on both ends with eight rebounds and three assists.
The Pacers dominated the glass, finishing with a 51-30 rebounding advantage, including 18 offensive boards that led to 23 second chance points. Peace also knocked down 11 threes and held Warren Wilson to just 34 percent shooting.
William Peace will now turn its attention to an exhibition match up on the road, traveling to UNCG on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
