Men's Basketball Extends Win Streak to Three with Comeback Victory Over Mid-Atlantic Christian

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace men's basketball extended its winning streak to three after knocking off Mid-Atlantic Christian in a tough 80-78 battle at home. With the win, the Pacers improved to 3-1 on the season.

Mid-Atlantic Christian came out of the gates hot, shooting 50 percent from the field and taking a 42-33 lead into halftime. The Mustangs were led by Keith Shakes Jr., who finished with 20 points, while senior guard Janus Shepherd added 13.

A strong second half shooting run from the Pacers quickly willed them back into the game. After shooting just 40 percent from the field and 18 percent from three in the first half, Peace found its rhythm in the final 20 minutes, knocking down 50 percent of its three-point attempts and making key free throws down the stretch.

Sophomore guard Elijah Green led the Pacers with 20 points and five rebounds, including several crucial buckets late. Parker Hodgson added 18 points on an efficient 7-of-11 from the floor along with seven rebounds. Sophomore center Chuks Ezeonu provided a very complete effort, filling up the stat sheet with 10 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

The Pacers will now hit the road, traveling to Danville, Virginia, to take on Averett University on Tuesday, November 25 at 4 p.m.
