Hodgson’s Career Night Leads Pacers Past Oglethorpe

RALEIGH, N.C. - William Peace men's basketball picked up its second straight win on Sunday afternoon, defeating Oglethorpe University 71-67 inside the Hermann Athletic Center. The Pacers improved to 2-1 on the season behind a dominant performance from junior guard Parker Hodgson.

Hodgson was a force on both ends, recording a career-high 24 points and 18 rebounds while shooting 8-of-15 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free throw line. His effort on the glass marked his third consecutive double-double to open the season.

Senior guard Shawn Jones added another double-double for Peace, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes of play. Sophomore guard Tyler Whitehurst continued his strong outside shooting, scoring 11 points and knocking down three three-pointers.

Oglethorpe was led by senior guard Malachi Dooley, who led with 26 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. 

William Peace will look to extend its win streak when it returns to action on Wednesday, November 19, hosting Mid-Atlantic Christian University at 7 p.m.
