Women's Swimming Defeats Chowan In Season Opener

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – William Peace opened the women's swimming season with a 116-82 dual meet victory over Chowan on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The Pacers were victorious in seven events. Kaitlyn Kucera, Alexis Inman and Avery Bissette each collected two individual wins to lead the way. Kucera and Inman were also part of the victorious 200 freestyle relay team.

Kucera captured the 400 freestyle in 4:53.96 and the 200 IM in 2:40.97. The WPU freshman placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.61.

Inman won the 50 breaststroke in 37.42 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.51. The Pacers senior placed second in the 50 freestyle in 29.39.

Bissette, a freshman, was first in the 50 backstroke (38.88) and the 100 backstroke (1:22.57). Freshman Sophia Monica was second in the 100 freestyle (1:06.65) and third in the 50 breaststroke (30.50) and the 200 IM (2:52.49).

The 200 freestyle relay team of Kucera, Inman, senior Alesia Brack and Monica won in 1:59.34.

The Pacers are back in the water Friday, Nov. 1, and Saturday, Nov. 2, in a double dual meet against Greensboro in Greensboro, N.C. The start times are 5 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
