RALEIGH, NC - The William Peace men's basketball team did not lose despite Friday's result against UNC Greensboro on the road.
The 88-56 score to the Spartans did not count on their record because it was an exhibition game. In fact, the Pacers gained valuable experience playing an NCAA Division I team whose resume this season includes a victory over nationally-ranked Arkansas, the same team that defeated Duke earlier in the week.Â
The Pacers' challenging non-conference schedule will help the team prepare for the USA South Atlantic Conference slate, which begins in January 2024. They have already faced two nationally-ranked Division III teams and will host No. 2 ranked Hampden-Sydney on Dec. 12.Â
Their next game will be Sunday, Dec. 10, at home against Lynchburg. Tipoff is 2 p.m. inside the Hermann Athletic Center.
Against UNCG,
Timothy Pettiford led the Pacers with 17 points and six rebounds.
Michael Dulin recorded three steals.
