ROCKY MOUNT, NC –
Tanaesha Ellison erupted for a game-high 26 points but William Peace started slowly in a 101-67 USA South loss to N.C. Wesleyan in women's basketball action at Everett Gymnasium on Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Ellison scored most of her points from the free throw line, making 14 of 16 attempts. She also pulled down six rebounds to tie for team-high honors.
Nautica Smiley added 13 points including 7 of 8 free throw attempts. As a team, the Pacers connected on 25 of 30 free throws for 83.3 percent.
Ja'Naisja Baker added 10 points and six rebounds and
Brene'a Daye finished with nine points, four rebounds and a game-high three steals. The trio of Ellison, Smiley and
Brittany Blackburn each had two steals.
The Pacers suffered their second straight defeat despite Ellison's offensive output. N.C. Wesleyan jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first period and never looked back.
After three consecutive league road games, the Pacers are back at home Thursday, Nov. 30, against Guilford. Game time is 6 p.m. This is the first of eight straight home games for the Pacers..
