Women's Lacrosse Wins Big Over Hollins

ROANOKE, VA – William Peace University women's lacrosse picked up their first win of the season with a 17-3 victory over Hollins. The Pacers now move to 1-2 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pacers would get on the board early just 30 seconds into the game with a goal from Madison Bradley to lead 1-0. Keslee Hylton and Bradley would add two consecutive goals to give the Pacers a 3-0 lead, while Mary Langer would find the back of the net for a dominant 4-0 lead. Brittany Wortman would put the Pacers up 5-0, with Bradley adding her third goal to give the Pacers a 6-0 advantage in the first. Bradley would add another from the free position late in the first to give WPU a 7-0 edge.

Hollins would cut the Pacer lead to 7-1 early in the second period, but Keslee Hylton would notch two consecutive goals to put the score at 9-1. Ashby King would give the Pacers a 10-1 lead, with Katelyn Johnson putting the Pacers up 11-1. Hollins would add another goal to send the Pacers into halftime leading 11-2. Madison Bradley would add her fourth goal early in the third to put the Pacers up 12-2. The rest of the third would be a back-and-forth, with Aryal Brandon putting up a few good saves and Bradley adding another to bring the score to 13-2.

Madison Bradley and Laura Langer would each score early in the final period for a 15-2 lead. Samantha Autry and Mary Langer would each notch a goal midway through to bring the score to 17-2. Hollins would find the back of the net one more time, but the Pacers would come away with a 17-3 victory.
