HIGH POINT, NC -- William Peace University baseball split the day, defeating #14 Adrian College 9-7 while falling to Greensboro College 14-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED

GAME ONE
Hunter Ward would start the Pacers off strong at the top of the 1st, hitting one out of the park to score Logan Barbour and put the Pacers up 2-0. AJ Miranda would add a run for the Bulldogs to cut the Pacers' lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the 1st. At the top of the 3rd, Cameron Butler would single to score Brett Kemp and bring the score to 3-1. Hunter Ward would double at the top of the 6th to bring home Kevin Gonzalez and Jake Norris to put the Pacers up 5-1. Hunter Ward would score on an error to put the score at 6-1.

At the top of the 7th, Nick Tyler would bring home Jake Norris to put the Pacers up 7-1, but a double from AJ Miranda would cut the Pacer lead to 7-2. At the top of the 9th, Nick Tyler would bring home Kevin Gonzalez to give the Pacers an 8-2 advantage. A double from Ian Turner would score Hunter Ward for a 9-2 WPU lead. The Bulldogs would battle back in the bottom of the 9th, adding two homeruns and bringing in five runs, but the Pacers would hold them off to win 9-7.

GAME TWO
At the top of the 1st, Nick Tyler would single to score Barbour and put the Pacers up 1-0. Tyler would add another single at the top of the third to bring the score to 2-0, while a single from Adam Joseph would bring home Jake Dacunto at the top of the 4th for a 3-0 Pacer lead. Greensboro would cut the lead to 3-2 with a single from Ned Flemister in the bottom of the 4th, while a few good hits and a homerun from Sam Hayen in the bottom of the 5th would put the Pride up 8-3.

A triple from Patrick Rogan would cut the Pride lead to 8-4, with a sacrifice fly from Ethan May scoring Rogan at the top of the 6th to bring the score to 8-5. The Pride would put up a big 6th inning to lead 12-5, adding another final run in the bottom of the 8th to secure a 14-5 win over the Pacers.

PACER TOP PERFORMERS

• Hunter Ward went 4 for 6 in game one, adding 4 RBIs as he hit for the cycle.
• Philip Berger tallied 5 strikeouts in game one.
• Kevin Gonzalez went 4 for 5 in game one.

FOR THE FOES

• Don Goodes went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI in game one for the Bulldogs.
• Sam Hayen went 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs in game two for the Pride.
