Women's Lacrosse Falls In Close Battle With Brevard

BREVARD, NC – William Peace University women's lacrosse fell to Brevard College by a score of 13-7. Madison Bradley tallied 6 goals in the game, while Aryal Brandon notched 9 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first period, Brevard would get on the board first as Emily Denaga would win the draw control and score, putting the Tornados up 1-0. The Pacers would tie it up 1-1 as Brittany Wortman would score from the free position less than a minute later. Madison Bradley would put the Pacers up 2-1 shortly after, but Brevard's KC Collins would score from the free position to even the score 2-2. Bradley would score from the free position to give the Pacers a 3-2 advantage. Brevard's Parker Moore would tie it 3-3 as the first period continued to be a back-and-forth. Madison Bradley would add her third of the game to send the Pacers into the second period ahead 4-3.

The Tornados would dominate the second period, with goalkeeper Lexi Maclauchlin putting up several strong saves on the Pacers. Emily Denaga would add one goal and Parker Moore would add two to send the Tornados into halftime leading 6-4.

In the third, a goal from the free position from Madison Bradley would cut the lead to 6-5, however KC Collins and Savannah Colliver would combine for consecutive goals to put Brevard up 8-5. Madison Bradley would again cut the Brevard lead to 8-6, but Denaga would add two more to send the Tornados into the final period with a 10-6 lead.

Parker Moore would score quickly in the 4th to give the Tornados an 11-6 lead. Madison Bradley would respond to bring the score to 11-7, but Moore and Emily Denaga would continue to pressure the Pacers, each adding another goal to secure the 13-7 win for Brevard.
