Schaper Scores 8 In Pacer Loss To Ferrum

 The William Peace University women's lacrosse team fell to Ferrum College (11-21) on February 21st, 2020.

THE BASICS
  • Final score: William Peace 11, Ferrum College 21
  • Records: William Peace (0-1), Ferrum College (1-0)
  • Location:Ferrum, VA

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Natalie Hughes kicked the game off quickly with a goal for the Ferrum Panthers to give them an early lead over the Pacers (1-0). Another goal would soon be scored for the Panthers by Megan Allen, but the Pacers would not back down as they responded with a goal of their own from Rylie Toomey (2-1). The Pacers would continue to hold on and fight back, but the Panthers would consistently find holes in their defense and they would go onto a 6-goal run (8-1).
  • Rylie Toomey would end the Panthers goal run, giving the Pacers more confidence in the game (8-2). The Panthers soon regained control over the Pacers, scoring 3 more, but the Pacers did not let them slip away as they scored 3 more as well (11-5). Micaela Harvey would end the first half with a goal to give the Panthers just a little bigger of a lead going into the second half (12-5).
  • Allison Schaper wasted no time at the beginning of the second half as she quickly notched 2 goals for the Pacers (12-7). The Panthers would respond soon after by going on a 5-1 goal run (17-8). Two Pacers would end up catching yellow cards (Rylie Toomey & Allison Schaper) during that scoring run as well.
  • After a Pacer timeout, Allison Schaper would score 2 consecutive goals in an attempt to put the Pacers back into the game (17-10). Afterwards, Kaitlyn Harley would find herself with a yellow card for the Panthers. Both teams would exchange goals going into the closing minutes of the game but the Panthers would find themselves on top (21-11).
