HOW IT HAPPENED
- Eva Holloway started off the scoring for the Pacers with a jumper to tie it (2-2). The Angels would go on a bit of a run before Mikayla Ray would get in the paint as the Pacers trailed (7-4). Ray would tie the game at 9 with another layup, while Lauryn Cross would get an opportunity on the fastbreak to give WPU an (11-9) lead. The Pacers would continue to roll in the first quarter, with a late jumper by Lauryn Cross putting them up (23-13) heading into the second quarter.
- WPU continued to control the game in the second quarter, with a jumper by Kiera Williams extended the Pacer lead to (31-20). Yamila Emanuel brought the score to (34-20) with a shot from the foul line. A shot from behind the arc by Khadijah Daniels would give the Pacers a (37-24) advantage. The game would head into halftime with the Pacers leading (45-28).
- Mikayla Ray would start off the scoring with another drive under the net to bring the score to (47-30). Mariah Partin added several consecutive points with a few made free throws to give WPU a 21-point advantage (52-31). Khadijah Daniels would end the third quarter with two made shots from the foul line to head into the fourth quarter (60-37).
- In the final quarter, Meredith made a push to work away at the Pacer lead. A layup by Cierra Baker brought the score to (62-41). Jaymesha Sanders gave WPU a 22-point lead with a shot from behind the arc (69-47). Shelby Wolfe would tally the last point for the Pacers with a shot from the foul line and the Pacers would win the game (74-63).
PACER TOP PERFORMERS
- Jaymesha Sanders led the Pacers with 14 points as she shot 6 for 10 from the field.
- Mikayla Ray led the Pacers defensively with 7 rebounds while also adding 12 points.
FOR THE FOES
- Kimberly Schuh led Meredith with 21 points as she went 8 for 12 from the field.
- Katie Perko had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
STATS OF THE GAME
- The Pacers shot 46.3% from the field compared to Meredith's 43.5%.
- WPU shot 72.7% from the free throw line to Meredith's 70%.
NEXT GAME
The Pacers will host North Carolina Wesleyan College on January 8th. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM in the Hermann Athletic Center.
