BREVARD, NC --- The William Peace University women's volleyball team headed into day two of the Brevard College Tornado Challenge, after completing the sweep yesterday against Greensboro College. The Saturday afternoon games started at 12:00 p.m. against Brevard College. The Pacers then ended the day facing Pfeiffer University at 2:00 p.m.

GAME 1
The Pacers came in with all of the momentum from the previous night's victory to take on a hungry Brevard Tornados team. Freshman, McLendyn Weathersby is continuing to put together an impressive rookie year and contributed several key kills to edge the Pacers passed the Tornados with a swift victory, 25-13.

After a competitive start to set two, the closest the Tornados would come to the Pacers lead would be an early 3-3 tie in the set. Back-to-back kills from Laskowski followed by a kill from freshman, Madison Meyers would push the Pacers ahead, and the Tornados would not see a lead for the rest of the game.

Set three proved to be quick as strong defense from Emily Braxton would hold the Tornados to just 9 points in the third set. Mya Parks was a big offensive contributor in the third set and led the Pacers to the 25-9 win. The Pacers began their win streak from the day before, defeating the tornados 3-0.

With the score at 8-6 in favor of the Pacers, the Falcons scored six unanswered points to take the lead and give the Pacers their first setback of the day. The persistent WPU squad would come from a 12-20 deficit to overcome the Falcons late in the set to come back and win, 25-23.
