Women's Soccer ties Agnes Scott in Home Opener

CARY, NC-- The William Peace University women's soccer team hosted the Scotties of Agnes Scott in their first home game of the season.

The game got off to a slow start as both teams were trying to figure the other out. Both back lines had great games as they cleaned up everything brought their way. The back line of Armonie Frazier, Haley Hinton, D'Aysha Jones, and senior Stephanie Arnold had outstanding performances and held the Scotties attack, who proved to be dangerous at times, led by forwards, Nia Coates and Zoey Perchaluk. Val'Dazia Todd and Caitlynn Croft also turned in great performances in the midfield for the Scotties making dangerous runs at the Pacer defense all afternoon.

With five minutes left in the first half, the play would be stopped due to inclement weather. After a three hour weather delay, play would resume with five minutes left in the first half. The game would quickly go to halftime and then move straight into the second half. The game would open up more to start the half and both teams would go back and forth making dangerous runs  behind the defense. Agnes Scott would have the clearest opportunities on goal in the second half but would be denied after a couple of great saves by freshman keeper, Makenzie Jones. Neither team would be able to find the back of the net and the contest would end in a 0-0 draw.

The Pacers will be back in action on Wednesday September 5 at 6:00 p.m. as they host the Vixens of Sweet Briar College.
