CARY, NC -- The William Peace women's soccer team took on the Vixens of Sweet Briar College on Wednesday evening, defeating the Vixens 9-0. This marks the Pacers first win of the 2018 season.

The first half was filled with offensive pressure from the Pacers. The Pacers tallied 24 shots in the first half alone in comparison to the Vixens' one shot in the first. Vixen goalie, Caroline Thomas, earned six saves in the first half. The Vixens would only find their end of the field on one occasion in the first 45 minutes, with one shot on goal. The first half would wrap up with the Pacers leading, 2-0. The first two goals of the game would come from freshman, Grace Marion.

The Pacers would push on with their attack in the second half firing 20 shots and connecting on seven of 12 shots on goal. Haley Hinton would open the half with a goal in the 46th minute of play. Armonie Frazier followed suit with two back-to-back goals scored in the 58th and 59th minute Despite the efforts of the Vixens to keep the Pacers at bay, WPU forwards were able to get in scoring position off of great services from Armonie Frazier, Haley Hinton, and Alyssa Gasperini.

Marion would score a hat trick at the 70 minute mark and would not finish her aggressive play there. With ten minutes left to play, Marion scored her fourth and final goal of the night off an assist from Hinton to finish with four goals.
