Hampden Sydney,VA-- The William Peace University Men's Basketball team defeated the Tigers of Hampden Sydney- College by a score of (96-71).
Smith Gupton would start his impressive shooting night from behind the arc and give the Pacers an early lead. The Pacers would hit on four of their first five attempts from three point land which would be enough to give them an early (14-9) lead. Smith Gupton would lead the Pacers in the first half with 11 points on four of six shooting with three of those being from behind the arc. Freshmen John Ingram would add 10 of his 15 points in the first half. Ingram would get to the line on six occasions and would convert all six.

The Pacers would pick up right where they left off to start the second half. WPU would use yet another run to start pulling away from the tigers. This time it would be a 9-2 run to give the Pacers a (51-37) lead. Thanks to timely shooting down the stretch the Pacers would not trail again in this contest. The Pacers would top the Tigers by a final score of (96-71).

The Pacers will now travel to Emory, Virginia on Wednesday, November 18th for an afternoon matchup against the Wasps of Emory and Henry College.The Wasps come into the matchup at (4-0) after beating Maryville College (86-74) on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00PM.
