Raleigh, NC -- The William Peace University men's basketball team fell (96-90) to Greensboro College in a USA South Conference matchup on January 3rd, 2018. The Pacers drop to an overall record of (2-8) and are (1-2) in the conference.
Greensboro took an early lead in the first on layups from Demetrius Tilley and Cornelius Johnson, and would lead for the rest of the game. Sam Arnold would put up the first Pacer points, but the Pacers struggled against the Pride defense. WPU struggled with turnovers and putting points on the board, tallying 17 turnovers in the first half, and shooting only 33.3% from the field. The Pacers went into halftime trailing 43-31.
Both teams came out strong offensively in the second half, with WPU adding 59 to Greensboro's 53 points. Camden Ferguson, Tre McLean,  scored 12 points respectively in the second half.  While Trey Bryant Scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half. The Pacers would get within 1 point on a layup and free throw from Trey Bryant at 5:24, but  the Pride would push back, leading 92-84 with 54 seconds left in the game. The Pacers added 6 points in the last minute for their highest scoring game so this season, but would ultimately fall to the Pride.
 
THE BREAK DOWN

	Trey Bryant had another double-double, leading the team with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

	The Pacers out rebounded the Pride 48-35 - the Pacers especially effective on the offensive end of the court, with 22 offensive boards compared to the Pride's 7.

	Ten WPU players contributed points. 
FOR THE FOE
	- 
	Joseph Gatling led Greensboro with 26 points, shooting 100% from the line. 
- 
	Darus Maddox added 20 points and 5 rebounds. 
- 
	The Pride shot 52.3% from the field. 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pacers (2-8) will continue USA South Conference play as they face Piedmont College (5-6) on Saturday, January 6th. The 2 p.m game will take place at the Hermann Athletic Center in Raleigh, NC.
