Pacers Earn Statement Victories Over Agnes Scott

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Pacers defeated Agnes Scott College Saturday afternoon in quick fashion thanks to their outstanding offense that dominated their game and forced two mercy-ruled finishes. The Pacers are now (15-19) overall and (7-8) in conference.

Game 1

Game one proved to set the tone for the day as the Pacer bats were a blaze from the very first inning. The Pacers scored 11 runs in the first inning alone. Batting through the line-up, four Pacers hit back to back doubles in that beginning inning. Kicked off by Lindsey Wiggins with a 3 RBI double to center field, Heather McLean, Jordan Criswell, and Kacy Haithcock would follow with doubles of their own. The final runs scored would come off of a 2 RBI homerun over center field by Lindsey Wiggins in the bottom of the second. Kelsey Durham got the start on the mound and allowed just four hits and threw five strike outs. The outstanding offense paired with the strong defensive effort would hold the Scotties to just one run. The game would concluded after a five inning Pacer victory, 13-1.

Game 2

Game two would start off with the Scotties in control as they got on the scoreboard first in the top of the fourth inning, scoring two. Courtney Smith led the game on the mound only allowing three hits and threw five strike outs. The Pacers would crank up the heat in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring 10 runs to end the game. Heather McLean hit a 3 RBI homerun, and is now tied for first in the nation with 10 homeruns on the season.

The Pacers are back in action tomorrow, against Wesleyan College for a conference double header beginning at 1:00 p.m. This will also be the Pacer's Pink Game featuring a tent set up by the Pretty in Pink foundation, a motorcycle presentation, an auction, an honorary first pitch presentation, and more!
