Box Score 2 DEMOREST, G.A. -- The William Peace University softball team was upended, 2-0 in game one and 1-2, by Piedmont College on Friday afternoon. The Pacers drop to 12-14 on the season.
Hitting came up early but not often for both teams. In the first inning
Lindsey Wiggins cracked a double to deep left field. Following after the play,
Heather McLean double to the same zone of the field and brought home Wiggins giving the Pacers an early lead. At a score of 1-0 in the first inning the Pacers looked to start off on the right foot but gave in on two hits and two errors to make the score 2-1. Jordan Magnum tallied up a single in the top of the third and another in the top of the fifth but the team could not bring her home through either opportunity. The game would be scoreless through six innings and the final score was 2-1.
This was a pitchers game as both teams left the board scoreless halfway through the fourth. The Pacers let go one run in the bottom of the fourth off an error and another in the bottom of the fifth after a single up the middle, giving Piedmont College a two to zero lead. The game would be scoreless through the rest of the innings as the Pacers dropped game two. Final score 2-0. The games would put the pacers at 12-14 on the season
The Pacers face Covenant College in a double header Saturday at 3:00 p.m. In Lookout, G.A. for another double header.
