RALEIGH -- The William Peace University men's basketball team suffered a 75-61 loss to St. Augustine Monday night. The Pacers end their non-conference schedule with a 7-4 record (8-4 overall).
The Pacers couldn't find any offensive rhythm in the first half and struggled shooting from the field. The team found itself trailing early and never found a seam to get ahead. The Pacers were shooting 23% at the end of the first half, and had 17 offensive rebounds, which likely kept the Pacers to stay within 13 points and not a larger deficit at halftime.
The Pacers never wavered in determination during the game and brought the score within five late in the second half. But the Falcons were able to hold off the Pacers late surge and close the game on a run topping the Pacers 75-61.
Ryan Emfinger scored 21 points and
Jalen Vince added 12 in the Pacers' loss to the Falcons.
Trey Bryant and
Willie Herring each recorded 10 rebounds on the night.
THE BIG PICTURE
The Pacers will need to fix their shooting woes as they head into conference play. The Pacers' last two losses, the team is 43 of 149 from the floor and 6 of 60 from beyond the arc. The team will have a few days to get their shooting stroke back before hosting Greensboro College on Saturday.
