WPU Defeats NC Wesleyan, 104-98

RALEIGH -- The William Peace University men's basketball team defeated NC Wesleyan 104-98 on Wednesday night. The Pacers 104 output is the second-highest total the team has finished with this season.

Jay Hicks and Ryan Emfinger led the way for the Pacers with 21 points each, a career-high for Hicks. He added 10 rebounds and three assists in his stellar performance against the Battling Bishops.

The Pacers and were behind at the half, 46-39. William Peace found its rhythm in the second half and erupted for 65 points. Hicks had 16 on 8 of 10 shooting. Four other Pacers scored in double digits in the second half alone. The team as a whole shot 72% from the floor to take the lead in a wild comeback.

THE BIG PICTURE
William Peace showed its offensive prowess in scoring over 100 points for the third time this year. The team can definitely shoot the ball and isn't afraid to take threes. Tonight's shooting display of 55% from the floor and 48% from beyond the arc show how lethal this team can be.

NOTABLES
Chris Thomas scored 19 points in only 18 minutes of play.
Jalen Vince flirted with a triple-double scoring 13 points, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out eight assists.
NC Wesleyan's Adrian Moore scored 41 points on 16 of 32 shooting. Moore leads the conference in scoring per game.
