FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The William Peace University men's basketball team fell, 91-85, to Methodist University on Wednesday night. The Pacers drop to 9-5 on the year and 2-1 in the conference.
The Monarchs jumped out to take the lead and would never surrender it the entire game. William Peace couldn't keep up with the Methodist's shooting touch and the Monarchs took a 40-28 lead into the second half.
The Monarchs' offensive efficiency continued in the second half with the team shooting better than 60%. The Pacers did all they could to stay in the game and got within four points late in the contest, but the Monarchs held off the Pacers' late surge to close the game late in the second half.
Camden Ferguson led the Pacers with 15 points on 5 of 6 shooting from beyond the arc.
