MONTGOMERY, AL – The William Peace University women's basketball team traveled for a pair of games down south this weekend, starting Saturday against Huntingdon College where the Pacers fell, 67-49.
Cassidy Clark reached double-figures for the third game in a row and fifth time this season, as she scored 10 points and blocked a shot.
DeJah Cheatham finished with nine points, three rebounds and an assists.
Hannah Ericksen added six points and six boards, while
Alexis Armstrong scored five points and grabbed a team leading eight rebounds.
Andrianna Robinson gave the Pacers an early 10-9 edge midway through the first quarter, but Huntingdon pulled ahead by eight (20-12) after closing the quarter with an 11-2 spurt. The Hawks were up 10 (35-25) at the half and quickly jumped out to an 18-point, 47-29 lead after opening the third on an 8-0 run. Huntingdon grew their lead to as many as 21 (46-27) in the fourth and cruised to victory

WPU (6-14, 0-11 USAS) shot 30.5% from the field going 18-of-59, and for only the second this season, the Pacers failed to hit a three-pointer (0-11). Huntingdon went 25-of-71 (35.2%) from the field and 5-of-23 (21.7%) from beyond the arc. The Hawks out-rebounded the Pacers, 59-36, including 26 offensive boards for 20 second chance points.
Juliette Harp led the way for Huntingdon (8-9, 3-7 USAS), posting a double-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds, an assist and four blocks. Jenna Dorman also had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards. Mackenzie Garmany recorded 14 points, five rebounds, six assists and a steal.
The Pacers turn around on short rest Sunday afternoon, returning to the Eastern Time Zone for a 1:00 p.m. game against LaGrange College(13-7, 7-4 USAS).
