LAGRANGE, GA – The William Peace University women's basketball team traveled to LaGrange College Sunday afternoon where they lost, 66-46.
The Pacers never led, as LaGrange went on three separate 8-0 runs during the game and another 11-0 run that extended their lead to as many as 26 (52-26) just over three minutes into the third quarter.
On the road since early Friday morning, WPU
(6-15, 0-12 USAS) ran out of gas down the stretch. They shot 14.8% (4-of-27) from the field in the second half and were out-rebounded for the game, 51-30.
Susannah Sykes was one of two Pacers in double figures with 13 points, four rebounds and a steal.
Zhana Gooden scored 10 points, grabbed a rebound and dished out one assist.
Marilauren Farr led LaGrange (14-7, 8-4 USAS) with 12 points, five rebounds and a block. Madison Barker had 10 points, nine boards, an assist and a steal. Kelsey Walthall added 10 points as well.
The WPU women's basketball team is back on the road this Wednesday, February 10 for a 6:00 p.m. game at Ferrum.
