NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The William Peace University men's basketball team picked up its eighth win of the season with a decisive victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, 86-66.
Ryan Emfinger led all scorers with 21 points.
Jay Hicks and
Camden Ferguson added 12 points and
Dakota King finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Jalen Vince led the team with seven assits. Hicks made his first career start in place of
Chris Thomas who didn't enter the game against the Bobcats.
The Pacers were in control for much of the game, taking the lead eight minutes into the first half and never relinquishing it. The Pacers slowly kept growing the lead over the remaining minutes of the first half and took a 13-point lead into halftime at 46-33. Emfinger was 7 of 8 from the field with 15 points going into half.
The Pacers didn't let up coming out of the half.
Willie Herring converted on a layup and the Pacers forced a turnover that led to a fast-break dunk by Emfinger. The Pacers continued to pressure the ball handler on defense and forced the Bobcats into committing 27 turnovers. The Pacers never led by less than 15 in the second half and cruised to a win.

It's a nice bounce-back win for the Pacers after losing their first game of the Crowne Plaza Captains Shootout last night. The team got back to its winning ways through great ball movement and solid defense. The Pacers only committed seven turnovers to the Bobcats 27.
