FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The William Peace men's cross country team opened their season Friday morning at the Downback Invitational, racing against a competitive field at the Methodist University Downback Golf Course.

Sophomore Benjamin Castro Locklear finished with a time of 17:27.2 in the 5K, placing 12th overall.

The Pacers will return to competition on October 2 at the Ben Snelling Cancer Classic hosted by Louisburg College.
