RALEIGH, N.C. – William Peace women's volleyball went 1-1 Friday at the Hermann Athletic Center, falling 0-3 to LaGrange before defeating Johnson & Wales (N.C.) 3-0.
Peace opened against LaGrange with two close sets, falling 24-26 and 28-30 before dropping the third 19-25. Aaliyah Anderson finished with 11 kills, while Jordyn Chinigo recorded 10 kills on a .296 hitting percentage. Chinigo added five blocks, including four solo blocks, and Gracie Payne finished with 15 digs and two service aces.
In the second match, the Pacers swept Johnson & Wales 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-12). Peace finished with 38 kills and hit .221, while holding Johnson & Wales to a .045 hitting percentage. Anderson led Peace with 10 kills on a .471 hitting percentage, and Aubrey Chesson added eight kills while hitting .438. Madison Fisher finished with five kills and no errors, while Layla Farmer recorded 19 assists. Jax Janecek and Helayna Myers each had nine digs.
The Pacers continue the Raleigh Invitational tomorrow against Sewanee at 12 p.m. and Guilford at 2 p.m.
