CARY, N.C. – William Peace women's soccer returned to WakeMed Soccer Park on Tuesday afternoon, where they hosted undefeated Brevard College. Despite a resilient defensive effort and a stellar game from goalkeeper Gaby Vazquez, the Pacers came up short, only 2–0.
Brevard opened the scoring in the 12th minute and doubled its lead just before halftime. From there, the Pacer defense tightened up, keeping the Tornados off the board for the final 45 minutes.
Vazquez tallied 17 saves to keep the game alive. Kerlyn Navarrete Trejos recorded both of the team's shots on goal.
With the result, William Peace moves to 1-6-1 on the season and 0-3-0 in USA South play, while Brevard remains unbeaten at 8-0-0 (3-0-0). The Pacers will look to regroup this weekend when they return to conference action.
