Buena Vista, Va. – William Peace volleyball went the distance in its opening match of Saturday's tri-match at Southern Virginia, but ultimately dropped a five-setter to Pfeiffer before falling in four sets to the Knights.
In the opener, the Pacers and Falcons traded momentum throughout before Pfeiffer escaped with a 3–2 win (25–23, 26–24, 20–25, 22–25, 15–5). Aaliyah Anderson paced the offense with a team-high 19 kills, while Aubrey Chesson added 11. Setter Maegan Brylski directed the attack with 50 assists to go along with 16 digs. Defensively, Gracie Payne anchored the back row with 21 digs, and Jordyn Chinigo contributed 8 kills and 6 blocks.
In the second match of the day, Peace faced host Southern Virginia. The Pacers took the second set to even the match but couldn't hold off the Knights' late pushes, falling 3–1 (25–16, 22–25, 25–20, 26–24). Anderson once again led with 14 kills, while Sarah Yates tallied 11. Brylski recorded 37 assists and 10 digs, and Payne posted a match-high 29 digs to lead the defense.
With the two results, William Peace moves to 7–8 overall and 0–3 in USA South play.
