NORMAN, Okla. – Sophomore standout Ian Williams of the William Peace University men's golf team has been named a 2025 NCAA Division III PING All-America Honorable Mention, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Williams is one of just 26 student-athletes across the nation to receive this prestigious honor, recognizing an exceptional 2024–25 season.
Williams capped his sophomore year with a scoring average of 74.9 over 21 rounds and recorded five rounds at or under par, including a season-low score of 69. He claimed three individual titles during the season: winning the Pfeiffer Spring Invitational out of a 102-golfer field, taking first place at the Glenn Heath Memorial as the Pacers finished second overall, and helping WPU secure the team title while earning first at the Wildcat Invitational.
In addition to his tournament wins, Williams logged six top-10 individual finishes. He placed 2nd out of 60 golfers at the Jack Ingram Invitational, finished runner-up at the Marlins Invitational, tied for 3rd at the Don Scalf Invitational, and shot a closing-round 69 to finish T-19th overall at the Camp Lejeune Marine Intercollegiate, one of the region's most competitive fields. Williams also helped lead the Pacers to strong team finishes, including first place at the Marlins Invitational, second at the Glenn Heath Memorial, and fifth at the USA South Conference Tournament.
The Division III PING All-America teams are sponsored by PING, a golf industry leader known for innovation and performance. Williams' national recognition marks a milestone moment for William Peace Golf and further solidifies his status as one of the premier players in the USA South Conference and beyond.
