MISENHEIMER, NC - The William Peace University softball team closed out its 2025 season in the USA South Tournament with a dominant 12-0 win over Mary Baldwin before falling just short in a 4-3 walk-off loss to Meredith in a double-elimination battle.
In their first elimination game, the Pacers exploded offensively with 13 hits to power past Mary Baldwin in five innings. Adanya Day launched a two-run homer and finished with two hits and two RBI's. Reagan Stewart went 3-for-3 at the plate, while Kierston Cox added two hits and two RBI's of her own. Kimberly Bordeaux earned the win in the circle, tossing three scoreless innings to help keep the Pacers' tournament hopes alive.
The momentum carried into the early innings of the second game as WPU jumped out to a 3-1 lead over Meredith behind four hits from Stewart, who drove in all three Pacers runs. But Meredith rallied with two runs in the fifth and delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh to end William Peace's postseason run.
The Pacers finish the year with a 20-21 overall record, closing out the spring with a strong showing and several individual highlights to build on heading into next season.
