CARY, NC — William Peace men's lacrosse capped off its regular season in style on Wednesday, delivering a commanding 24-7 victory over Warren Wilson on Senior Night. The Pacers exploded offensively in their final home game of the season.
"What a great way to send the seniors out." WPU Head Coach Troy Humphrey said after the game. "They've been through a lot the last four years and they deserved this ending. Now, they're looking forward to another opportunity to compete alongside their boys on Saturday."
Jamar Bell led the scoring charge with five goals and three assists. Caleb Trahan and Quinn Acree each added four goals, with Trahan contributing three assists and Acree tallying one. William English facilitated the attack with a game-high five assists and added two goals of his own, finishing with seven points and surpassing 100 points as a Pacer.
The Pacers wasted no time setting the tone, racing out to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and never looking back. They scored in every phase of the game, pouring in eight goals in the third quarter alone to push the game out of reach. In total, 11 different players found the back of the net, including Seniors Zach Fields, Trahan, Noah Belote, and Jordan DeJesus.
Cullen Hunt dominated face offs, winning 21 of 27 draws and scooping up 10 ground balls. On the defensive end, Buchanan forced four turnovers and collected six ground balls.
With the win, William Peace improves to 6-7 overall and 3-5 in USA South play, building momentum as they head into the conference tournament. The Pacers will now shift their focus to the postseason, where they'll look to extend their season and continue their run against Methodist in the First Round on Saturday, April 26th at 3 PM.
